Number 3 - Waste Wise tip from the Green Team

Number 3 - Waste Wise tip from the Green team is...

Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Not only are they good for you, they are also biodegradable. Please remember to throw your fruit and vegetable scraps in a worm farm, compost heap or feed them to the chooks.

Let's get ready to RRR...Rumble!

Year 5 & 6 Robotics

Students of the Year 5 and Year 6 Maths Extension class have undertaken a Robotics unit this semester. They have made the Riley Rover to conduct basic experiments using Pythagoras' Theorem and testing speed, pace and distances and have now progressed to engineering the more complex GyroBoy model for the next series of activities using the sensor attachments. These activities engage the students in higher order thinking that is promoted in STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here are some pictures of the students in action.

Winners from our 3R's Poster Competion

As part of our Recycle Right School's Challenge for National Recycling Week we invited all students to design a poster promoting the message of the 3R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We received many fabulous entries which made the final decision for our Green Team and myself a very difficult one. We were very pleased to announce the winners at last week's Friday assembly. Our winners were awarded with a prize from our Green Team and our Principal Mr Coniglio. The overall winner's entry will be copied and displayed around the school.
